Tariqullah Khan
Biography
Dr. Tariqullah Khan is a distinguished academic with over 50 years of experiencein Islamic finance, economics, and circular economies. He was awarded the Islamic Development Bank Prize in Islamic Economics and Finance (2022)for integrating Islamic finance with sustainability and circular economy concepts in education.
He has held prominent academic positions, most recently as a Professor at INCEIF University, Malaysia, and previously at Istanbul Zaim University (2020-2022) and Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Qatar (2009-2020). He also served as a Visiting Scholar at Stanford University (2017) and Harvard University (2011).
Dr. Khan was twice elected President of the International Association for Islamic Economics (2011-2019). He worked for over two decades at the Islamic Development Bank Institute (1983-2009), holding key research and leadership roles.
A prolific researcher, he has published extensively on Islamic finance, sustainability, and economic transformation. His focus includes financial structuring, circular economy, and green finance.
Dr. Khan holds a PhD in Economics from Loughborough University, UK (1996). His lifelong mission is to develop Islamic finance as a sustainable and ethical financial system that supports global economic resilience.
